HR Assistant
The HR Assistant plays a key role in supporting the organization’s hiring efforts by coordinating recruitment activities and ensuring an efficient candidate experience from application through onboarding. This position works closely with the HR Manager to attract, screen, and onboard qualified candidates while also providing administrative support for day-to-day Human Resources operations.
Essential Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Manage the full recruitment process for assigned positions, including posting job openings, reviewing applications, and maintaining applicant tracking systems.
- Source qualified candidates through job boards, social media, employee referrals, and other recruiting channels.
- Screen resumes and conduct initial phone interviews to identify qualified applicants.
- Coordinate interviews between candidates and the hiring team.
- Communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process, providing timely updates and ensuring a positive candidate experience.
- Conduct reference checks, prepare employment offers, and assist with pre-employment screenings.
- Monitor recruiting and maintain accurate hiring records.
- Participate in job fairs, community recruiting events, and other talent acquisition initiatives as needed.
Human Resources Support
- Coordinate new hire onboarding, including preparing employment documents, orientation materials, and personnel files.
- Maintain confidential employee records and ensure HR documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Assist with benefits administration, employee status changes, and other HR transactions.
- Support performance review processes.
- Assist with special projects.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- One to three years of recruiting, talent acquisition, or HR experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with candidates and employees.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple openings and prioritize competing deadlines.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS), HRIS platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
Preferred Skills
- Experience coordinating interviews and managing recruitment workflows.
- Strong customer service mindset and professional communication skills.
- Coordinates interviews with applicants, conducts references checks and background checks and onboards new staff.
- Acts as liaison with the temporary staffing agency regarding temporary hires.
- Manages discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Additional Information
Work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30-5:00. Starting salary is $25 – $28 per hour, with medical and dental benefits provided, 403 (b) contribution and matching, and generous paid time off. Position begins immediately. This is not a remote position.
