Wish List

Here’s Our Wish List!

Flexible Financial Assistance Fund

The funds we receive from the government are limited and are often restricted for specific purposes. As a result, we are constantly searching for additional sources of funding that will enable us to provide financial assistance to our clients when public funding is not available. Financial assistance helps us end or prevent homeless by providing short-term housing assistance and allows us to pay for vehicle repairs or medical expenses for our clients.

Research Fund for the Safe Parking Program

Our Safe Parking Program is the leading program of its kind in the nation. One of our goals for the program is to establish it as an evidence-based practice. This will allow us to improve our advocacy efforts to secure funding sources for our own program and for programs throughout the nation. This is an exciting initiative that has the potential to make a huge difference in addressing homelessness in our county. With over 15 years of data, our program is one of the only programs in the nation that has the capacity to be established as an evidence-based practice.

Office Space

Our programs have grown significantly over the last five years, and as a result, our staff based in Santa Barbara are distributed in two offices. One of our long-term goals is to move into a larger office, so we can centralize our programs and create one place for low-income community members to access mental health and homeless assistance services. We are looking for a commercial building of approximately 5,000 square feet that is ADA-compliant and located close to downtown Santa Barbara.

In-Kind Donations

While we have limited storage, we will consider accepting gently used furniture donations, high-quality dishware, clothes, or household items that would be useful to our clients we have recently housed. If you have furniture you wish to donate, please send a picture of the item to development@sbnbcc.org. Please let us know if you are a business owner or car mechanic and are interested in donating any of your services to our clients.
