40 hours per week position with benefits. The Safe Parking Program provides overnight Safe Parking shelter for individuals and families who live in their vehicles; and case coordination and rapid re-housing assistance to help individuals experiencing homelessness return to living in traditional and permanent housing.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities and tasks primarily include:
• assisting with overall program coordination;
• coordination of daily program operations;
• grant coordination;
• case coordination and shelter services;
• and HMIS compliance.

Program coordination responsibilities include:
• coordinating program staff activities;
• assisting with maintaining program and grant compliance;
• data tracking;
• reporting and administration, training and provision of information to other communities, and;
• serving as a conduit between our agency staff and the county-wide community in general.

General program operations duties include:
• attendance and coordinating of internal and external meetings;
• preparation and submission of all paperwork and necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner to appropriate parties;
• track all data, outreach, and financial assistance;
• collaborate with other community agencies;
• provision of program information to other communities;
• participation in the CoC’s Coordinated Entry System (CES);
• provide assistance to the Homeless Services Director and Executive Director as needed.

Additionally, the Program Coordinator also occasionally assumes case coordination activities working with clients who are homeless and in need of securing traditional, permanent housing. Case coordination tasks include helping homeless individuals and families living in their vehicles or unsheltered on the streets to secure housing and look for available housing/rental units, coordinating housing with landlords, connecting clients with community resources and government and health benefits, establishing and maintaining ongoing relationships with landlords and clients after housing, and developing case plans with clients in order to help them stabilize and resume healthy functioning. The majority of case coordination activities are limited to administrative coordination being provided to program staff and stepping in as needed for more urgent or sensitive client needs and situations.

The ideal candidate is administratively oriented and has experience working in a social service setting; has experience providing program coordination activities to the homeless population. He/she should embrace the Housing First approach to helping homeless individuals and families stabilize and return to permanent and traditional housing. Experience with HMIS preferred and/or a solid demonstrated ability to use complex software and Microsoft Excel for data collection and reporting is required.

The position requires that the Program Coordinator be an empathic and compassionate listener with solid boundaries and the ability to effectively coordinate and organize the activities of a robust and busy shelter and rapid rehousing program. The Program Coordinator must have a demonstrated ability to multi-task, coordinate community-wide activities, collaborate with partner agencies, and implement grant/programmatic activities. The position requires initiative, resourcefulness, significant attention to detail, the ability to effectively time manage, be self-directed, and work autonomously.

Work hours are Monday – Friday, 9-5 although there will be some occasional nighttime and weekend hours to attend community events, meet with landlords, and to attend to emergent client needs or reporting or grant deadlines. The Program Coordinator is on-call outside of business hours and must answer and maintain the 24/7 after-hours work cell phone to address urgent client needs as they arise.  Must have a valid driver’s license, your own working transportation with valid registration and liability insurance to conduct job-related travel.  Must meet insurance carrier’s requirements for approval to drive. Also, must satisfactorily pass the company’s background, DMV and reference check.

Salary is $66,560 – $70,000, annually, DOE full-time, non-exempt with medical and dental benefits provided, 403b contribution and match, as well as generous paid time off. Position is available asap. This is not a remote position.
